SPECIAL Guest - Liane Keegan
is a Dramatic Contralto with over 40 years’ experience on the Operatic and Concert platforms. Her career has taken her all over the world, with residencies with many of the leading Opera Houses and Orchestras in Europe, America and Australia. A specialist in Wagner and Verdi roles, Mahler, Elgar and Vaughan Williams Concert pieces and Oratorios specific to the Contralto voice, to name but a few.
Liane is the Artistic Director of XLArts.org and the newly formed Ensemble Creatus in Melbourne. Along with teaching singing and German diction coaching, Liane is a fully qualified Arts Therapist and a Visual Artist who also has a passion for directing Opera.
special guest - THECHO!R, led by Patrick Burns
Founded by Jonathon Welch AM in 2009, THECHO!R celebrated their 16th year of performing together earlier this year. Billed as one of Melbourne’s most exciting unauditioned community adult choirs, their repertoire spans all genres from contemporary, jazz and swing to opera, music theatre, rock and original new works.
Also known for their extensive charity work, THECHO!R has raised thousands of dollars in support of community organisations and causes. They are led by the dynamic and award winning Patrick Burns and since 2021 have rehearsed in the Docklands at the Community Hub, a stone’s throw from the Performance Space.
